Room-to-Room: Back Bedroom

With either a ducted HVAC system or a mini-split system, inline fans can be a great tool for moving air. An inline fan offers great flexibility for existing or new construction to get conditioned air where it is needed most.

FG 4XL EC

FG 4XLEC inline duct fan pulls air from the tempered living area and transfers it to an adjacent room at a low cost.

FIDT 6

Acoustical insulated flexible duct speeds up installation by reducing the number of joints in a run and eliminating the need for elbows and offsets.

MGS

Supply and exhaust air grilles MGS for mounting into rigid or flexible ducts.

MGE

Supply and exhaust air grilles MGE for mounting into rigid or flexible ducts.

DBF 110

This product is ideal for a quick fix to the back bedroom. It’s as simple as cutting the duct in the correct spot and installing the DBF 110 near a 3-prong outlet.

How it Works

Regulating temperatures

Simply put, inline fans are designed to fit perfectly inline within the duct. They push air in one direction. Based on the direction they face, they can be used as supply or exhaust fans. Careful positioning ensures that conditioned air is pushed where it is needed most.

Regulations and Factors

Important to know
  • Mechanical Code (MC) 503.1 Requires proper sizing to provide the correct level of air movement.

  • Local Codes May have their own requirements.

  • Code Compliance and Efficiency Adhering to codes ensures safety and minimizes costs through energy-efficient solutions.

  • Knowledge, Value, and Importance of IAQ Using an inline fan to boost airflow from the HVAC or mini-split system can keep occupants comfortable at a smaller price point.

  • Temperature Zoning Keeping a home tempered with a central HVAC system or mini-split systems are used in many homes throughout North America.

  • Quiet The remote mounting location keeps the small amount of noise an inline fan makes, out of the living space.

Boosting Ventilation with Inline Fans

Between Living Areas

Installing multiple mini-split units can efficiently regulate air in individual rooms, isolating their effectiveness to specific locations. While this solution may not be cost-prohibitive for some homes, a simpler alternative involves using an inline fan with strategic intake and exhaust points to distribute tempered air across a larger area with minimal renovation.

Between Bedroom & Bath

With a simple inline fan installation, the inline fan can bring that tempered air to a connected space within a suite or private section of the dwelling.

Back Room

Utilizing an inline fan within a main branch of the duct helps boost airflow to all connected spaces. If a single room or area is needing an extra boost, a great and cost-effective solution is to connect the inline fan to the smaller connection.

'Great Versatility’ is how I would describe inline fans. As a boosting fan, these products ensure each space receives conditioned air; creating homeostasis throughout the home.
