HEPA Filtration System Scrubs the Indoor Air of Potential Allergens

The house is super-insulated and airtight, aiming for Passive House energy efficiency. It's fully electric with a heat pump and a direct-vented fireplace for extreme weather. The ventilation system includes an energy recovery ventilator.

The homeowner has severe dust allergies. To clean the indoor air, ZON Engineering decided to supplement the ventilation system with a HEPA filtration system. The HERO HS300 provides full-spectrum air cleaning throughout the house, up to 3,000 sq. ft. The system captures and removes pollutants and allergens from the air - 0.3 microns and larger - that would otherwise impact the homeowner’s health.
