Ventilating Edmonton's Tallest Building

Reliable Solutions Solve Airflow Challenges | Edmonton, AB, Canada

Stantec Tower

The Perfect Product

The Stantec Tower in Edmonton, Canada, is a 66-floor LEED Gold Certified skyscraper with commercial and residential spaces.

Its main challenge was finding reliable equipment to meet design airflows. In the luxury Sky Residences, engineers used two inline duct fans per condominium and suite to address this challenge.

They chose prioAIR inline fans for thier performance range and compact size, which fit well in the shallow ceiling space, maintaining an open and luxurious feel. One fan served the main bathroom, while the other ventilated the kitchen and living areas. Controlled by a speed controller, the fans adjusted airflow according to demand, enhancing efficiency.

This solution, along with constant airflow regulators and control damper boxes, ensured design flows were met without exceeding them, despite the building's winter stack effect.
